Week 12/15

This week we started to get good with adobe and started to get things done quicker. So we usually got the news on before Channel One. We added a segment where we read the lunch menu instead of just having a title of it. We're also working on a new intro tape. We're gonna do it like it was on anchorman. If we can figure it out right it'll look pretty good. The playdoh intro tape is getting old. Today we had problems with the sound and couldn't record to tape, but other than that it has been pretty good.

12/12

We got better with the green screen this week. We also went completely to adobe with the news now. It makes things go a lot smoother. Its less hectic too. You don't really have to time things as much and we can just edit it all together at the end and record it to tape at the end of the period. It works a lot better. We also started to have powerpoints that relate to the slide that the anchor is reading, so its starting to look a little more professional. I think it'll all come together when we update the intro tape and add some commercials.

green screen week

We got our green screen on monday. I was hunting that day so I wasn't here for the first time we had it but I've been here ever since. We're gonna do the news in a different way now that the green screen is here because transitions are different now that we have to use the chroma key. We haven't got the whole green screen down yet, we're trying to do it all on the computer but the computer we have to use is the kind that always freezes once you have something accomplished. We're all gonna make backgrounds for the green screen though and it'll eventually start to look better and go smoother.

final 9 weeks

This 9 weeks was a strange one. We went on strike for about a month at the end of it. So now it feels like I shouldn't be summing up a 9 weeks right now. We made a lot of new things for the news already though. Me and Nick made an AV club commercial that was a big hit around the school. Although it only got played a few times. Thats what you gotta do, you can't always give them what they want. We also made an intro tape with playdoh. It was real sweet at first but now it's kind of lame and looks like sesame street. So we're probably gonna make a new one this nine weeks. We had a good idea with the blue screen for a Snowball commercial. But the strike interfered and we weren't in school before and after Snowball. So it would be pointless to do now. We may make a commercial for a fall sport using the blue screen now instead. I also participated in the News regularly. Mainly just anchoring since Bandi does the weather everyday. He takes it pretty seriously, I don't want to jump in on that. I anticipate that I'll get an A in the course. I completed all my blog posts, to my knowledge. And I've participated in the class. I wasn't really required to do much outside work for any of my projects. Really all the outside work was me and Chris discussing commercial/intro ideas at work instead of doing our jobs. All in all the 9 weeks were good and I look forward to doing more the rest of the year.

Week Something

We didn't get to play our av club commercial this week. Which is ridiculous becuase everyone is obsessed with it. But that's alright. I didn't really anchor this week becuase I didn't really feel like it and I had to man the computer most of the time because we're doing most of the news through adobe now. We figured out a kind of green screen type of deal which might work out good. Or it might just look ridiculous but it'll be good for some kind of intro or commercial.

Week 5 or 6 or something

This week was very productive. We finished our Av club commercial, it only got played 2 times but everyone is obsessed with it and we're getting all kinds of ladies. We also made an intro tape with playdoh. It looks like its from a PBS show but its still awesome. Our next plan is a commercial for snowball, we will probably get that finished by next week.

Week 4

This week we finally got to start an commercial. We faked interviewed people and we're gonna string together the answers and make it look like they're promoting AV club. Not that they wouldn't be. We're gonna put it on the news Monday. I only anchored around 3 times this week. We had a Chris day and we still did the joke of the day. We tried to do national news a few times but it didn't really work out each time. So that will probably start monday as well.
